THE PROCESS
First Meeting
If you have a house plan, or only an idea of what your dream home will look like, our team will guide you along the path to achieving your desired outcome. Helping you design or select the perfect
house plan is just the beginning. From the placement of your
home on the lot to the selection of the very finest building materials to the most unique interior trim details, Maillot Homes makes a
lasting commitment to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Pre-Construction Meeting
Maillot Homes builds homes in some of Calgary’s most distinguished communities such as Church Ranches, Aspen Estates, Bearspaw, and Springbank. We will evaluate your lot alongside you to determine what type of custom home can be built, what it will cost to develop the land, and inform you of any developer or county restrictions.
House Design Meeting
Maillot Homes recognizes this is the most important and personal step in the decision making process when building a custom home. We endeavor to make this an enjoyable process by working with you to determine your current and future needs, and to explore your personal likes and dislikes. We will make available to you a library of homes to choose attributes from and guide you in ensuring that all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Once you have decided on a design concept, we will develop the blueprints for your review and approval. If you decide to change your plans during the building, it is no problem. This is only one of the areas where Maillot Homes sets itself apart from the competition. There are usually between three and six meetings at this stage to ensure you are a getting your dream home.
Initial Meeting - You will meet with the designer with a list of wants and needs and begin the process of discussing the type of house you want, the number of rooms, size of the house, etc. We will be by your side to guide you in the areas you are not familiar with.
Planning Meetings - You will receive a first draft of the plan you have requested and our team will work with you to solicit your feedback, suggest changes that will add value to your home and many more items. There will be many meetings needed in this phase of the building process and we are committed to making it right!
Final Planning Meeting - This is the final meeting before the plans are sent out for tender. This will ensure that your plans are exactly what you want and a final ‘walk through’ of the house is done with our 3-D CAD system.
